Pennsylvannia Considers Life Insurance Beneficiary Bill

The House Insurance Committee, led by Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna), will consider three bills, including House Bill 1937, sponsored by Rep. Marguerite Quinn (R-Bucks), to help ensure that beneficiaries are made aware of any unclaimed life insurance benefits.

House Bill 2497, also sponsored by Quinn, to create a statewide contact database of life insurance companies to assist the families of deceased Pennsylvania residents; and Senate Bills 1356 and 1357, sponsored by Sen. Jake Corman (R-Centre), both designed to simplify the manner in which auto insurance and homeowner insurance customers are transferred between corporate affiliates.
